Exactly it’s new Baba Harbhajan Singh Shrine which is located on the way to Kupup Gnathang valley and Menmecho Lake at East Sikkim, more particularly in between Nathula and Jelepla pass at an altitude of 12,123 ft & about 52 KM from Gangtok. Captain ‘Baba’ Harbhajan Singh (30 August 1946 – 4 October 1968) was an Indian Army Soldier, recognized as Hero of Nathula, became saint by believers and locals.

Most interestingly, since 1968 the Army treated Sepoy Harbhajan Singh on roll, acknowledge with rank and privileges until his retirement in 2006, even extension by one year.

However, the Old Baba Mandir is approachable from Silk route, although it is at a distance of 60 KM from Gangtok, which was a military bunker and the samadhi place of Baba. This New Baba mandir is popular because the permit is accessible from Gangtok itself.
