In loving memory of Jaswant Singh Rawat (19.08.1941 - 17.11.1962) who commemorates the bravery of 1962 Indo-China war at the Battle of Nuranang and martyred. He was a rifleman (Garhwal Rifles) and posthumously awarded Maha Vir Chakra, place is located 25 KM ahead of Tawang way to Bomdila at Arunachal Pradesh, India. The shrine memorial built where he fought the Chinese Army now named ‘Jaswant Garh’ locals regards as holy Baba, because he alone holds Chinese troops for three days. Army personnel’s pay respect during en-routes, even treated as serving Officer, get promotions, have separate room and belongings, boots regularly shines, dress pressed, towel changed, offered timely food tea and shacks. One of the most memorable site to visit in between 5-11 th October’ 2011. Adjacent to the Memorial of Indian Army they serves tea, coffee and snacks particularly samosa to tourists at a reasonable price, the stall runs in the name of Jaswant Singh. We enjoyed hot samosa and coffee when we were about to reach Tawang from Bomdila commuting a long journey
