A well-known ornamental perennial flower plant Begonia, the name given by French botanist as being from ‘Begoniaceae’ family and prefer tropical climate to grow from tubers. A popular houseplant Begonia have attractive foliage colors, flower sepals are bright with distinct shape, sizes and shades, single or double, compact or large all depends on the species variety, the blooms symbolizes harmonious warning of caution, justice & peace, even gratitude. At our location it’s difficult to grow large flower varieties, as such I placed pictures from Arunachal Pradesh hilly area collection to relate its abundant attraction and beauty.

Grow: It begins with planting of tuber indentation facing up, so that the leaves and steam comes out from the tuber naturally. To groom Begonia at garden, it requires quality fertile soil with well drainage, partial sunlight and careful watering preferably on pots or containers. The plant grows up to 18 inches, showy flowers last long in different colors and may have fragrance.

Scientific Classification: Kingdom - Plantae; Clade – Angiosperms, Eudicots, Rosids; Order – Cucurbitales; Family – Begoniaceae; Genus – Begonia (Source – Wikipedia)… for correlation
