Bugloss ‘Echium’

The binomial name is Echium Vulgare, otherwise called Viper’s bugloss; two words from alternative name combine the title, which is a garden ornamental species from ‘Boraginaceae’ family. It is a perennial plant grows up to say 1-3 ft with hairy and rough leaves having cluster of small flowers from pink and turn blue even have other shades. The traditional name ‘Bugloss’ came from Greek word ‘bou’ (ox) and Latin word ‘glosso’ (tongue) to relate its leave shape as ox-tongue.

Grow: It begins with getting right seedlings; instead seeds are better because Echium is sensitive to transplanting for its roots nature. Thrives in full sun light, well drained and matured soil, carefully avoid over watering, adding minimum fertiliser works well. The plant is hardy and requires little care, but deadheads are removed to allow profuse blooming
