Bunching "Bougainvillea"

A very popular ornamental vine from ‘Nyctaginaceae’ family is known as Bougainvillea plant. Everyone can recognize by its thorny appearance and bunching blooms, which is an actually modified leaf known as bracts, appears as flowers having various colors like red, orange, yellow, crimson or purple etc. Interestingly within the bracts surround tiny white flowers are the actual flower which blooms around the year and consider as permanent flowering plant in a garden.

Grow: To care Bougainvillea it should be planted in full sun, well drained fertile soil and proper watering. Caring includes pruning and cuttings, young plant of dwarf and grafted variety is preferred, even variegated species are attractive choice. Gardeners also like to shape Bougainvillea as Bonsai plant. Its height and spread depends upon the species.
