The binomial name is ‘Çalliandra Haematocephala’ from the extended family of ’Fabales’ which is a perennial landscape shrub plant having silky leaves and spread attractive powder-puff like flowers. The powder-puff inflorescence has numerous long scarlet stamens, most common is red color but other colors are also available. It can be given shape as per desire by trimming and it blooms profusely during winter season, interestingly the leaves folded during night, attracts bees and butterflies

Grow: It can be grown on pots but best suited on ground because of its size which can rise up to 3 meters, a permanent species, even gardeners prefer to give shape as bonsai. The propagation takes place from stem cutting, grafting or from seeds as the case may be. Do not over water, prefer sun exposure to partial shades condition.

Scientific Classification: Kingdom - Plantae; Unranked – Angiosperms, Eudicots, Rosids; Order – Fables; Family – Fabales; Subfamily: Caesalpinioideae; Genus – Calliandra (Source – Wikipedia)… for correlation
