The name Dimorphotheca comes from the Greek "Dis" "Morphe" and "Theka" means ‘two shaped fruit’ from ‘Asteraceae’ family and native to South Africa. A perennial and annual herbaceous flowing plant sowed during winter, other common names includes African daisy, Rain daisy, Star of Veldt etc. the height of the plant is from 1.5 to 2.5 ft, flower color ranges from white, yellow, red, cream, orange to pink etc which closes during sunset.

Grow: On prepared rich soil with good drainage condition, the young seedlings are posted and place on full sun exposure. Proper care is required for healthy growing maintaining all parameters from watering to fertilization including preventive sparing for fungus and insects attacks. The hybrid varieties are more sensitive and should be planted on pots; don’t disturb roots of the plant, ultimately profuse flowers gives meaning to a garden.
