A favorite garden flower Dahlia expresses sign of dignity and elegance and the name given after Anders Dahl who was a Botanist of Sweden, which is a national flower of Mexico. It comes from ‘Asteraceae’ family, a genus of bushy, tuberous, herbaceous perennial plant. Grow: Dahlia flower is composite with layer of petals which encircle a core as floral head, ranging diameter from 2 – 14 inches, height of the plant from 12 – 60 inches. Usually procure cutting transplants grown from bulbs and tuber roots, although seeds dahlia is also available. There are wide varieties of dahlias based on their sizes, flowering patterns and colors, at the end of each branch three flower buds comes out and the central bud retained for blooming by eliminating other two, to ensure large blooming
