Frilly ‘Dianthus’

In Greek ‘dios means God and ‘anthos’ is flower, a steady genus called Dianthus, also common to say ‘Sweet Williams’ flowers of Gods, member of the ‘Caryophyllaceae’ family, while produces right up flowers with frilly edges subscribing perfect mix in the title, perfect ornamental choice to a garden.

I like to correlate to an exclusive thread at my blog on Dianthus flower during 2012, where evidence displayed through pictures; link: http://avibration.blogspot.in/2012/02/frilly-ornamental-anthos-dianthas.html

Grow: Dianthus is popular and hardy winter flower plant preferred as border, bed fills or pots and easy to grow with little care. It required sunny spot and adequate compost or organic manure and deep watering to achieve better growth. What matters is the quality of the species and seedlings. The flowers have five petals with frilled margins, comes in multiple burst of flowers. The picture refers to hybrid variety and continue flowering even at late winter. At present I grow it on soil free medium

Scientific classification: Kingdom – Plantae; Unrank – Angiosperms, Eudicots, Core eudicots; Order – Caryophyllales; Family – Caryophyllaceae; Genus –Dianthus (Source – Wikipedia)… for correlation
