This is an annual and popular winter flower, having two major varieties one is ‘Grandiflora’ (large/double) and the other is ‘Multiflora’ (small/single). This post relates Multiflora variety (small) Petunia, the name came from the French word ‘petun means ‘tobacco’. The soothing and peaceful relates the meaning of the flower. This picture belongs to Single PETUNIA and four colors, as per convention symbolizes anger and resentment

As soon as you enter here, the soothing effect of Petunia will certainly bring out big smiles at your face. But if you don’t visit one of my posts of 2012 at the following link ...

Grow: When the plants have three leaves, you can plant them outside. It's best to buy transplants and plant either on bed or pots, even hanging baskets in support of well-drained soil, full sun light. It can be grown in partial shade, but they will have fewer flowers. It requires full sun exposure, prepared soil and proper fertilizer and timely watering. Best option is to buy seedlings or transplants from Nursery with hybrids origins having wide range of color, shade and curves at the time of full blooming. It is capable to tolerate harsh condition and prefer fertilization

Scientific Classification: Kingdom – Plantae; Clade – Angiosperms, Eudicots, Asterids; Order – Solanales; Family – Solanaceae; Genus – Petunia (Source: Wikipedia) … for correlation
