Purpurea ‘Digitalis’

An ornamental winter variety biennial flowing plant, genus name is ‘Digitalis’ derive from Latin word as ‘measuring a finger breadth’ also known as foxglove, one of the best known garden species is Digitalis purpurea belongs to ‘Plantaginaceae’ family. The attractive blooms comes out from tall tubular spikes of different sizes with colour range of pink, grey to white, yellow etc having various spots. The plant is toxic to animals and has medicinal properties; hybrid species includes Digitalis Grandiflora with large pink blossoms



Grow: This eye catching garden variety is grown from seedlings, while positioned in full sun and fertile well drained soil. All care including fungicide and insecticide spray is necessary for smooth growing; at intervals apply organic fertiliser as per condition of growth. The plant grows in between 2 to 4 ft and spread 1 to 2 ft, the flowers is formed on spike having multiple tubular. If it is grown on beds then 1.5 to 2 ft apart space is recommended
