Scadoxus 'Ball-Lily'

The botanical name is ‘Scadoxus Multiflorus’ popular as ‘Ball Lily’ also known as Blood flower, Powder-puff Lily etc. which is a bulbous flowering plant from Asparagales’ family. Grown as ornamental plant for attractive globe shaped bright flowers of scarlet red to orange colour explode during early summer. The leaves and stalks are wrapped to form a stem up to 1.5 ft long, while the flower forms at the top of the stem

Grow: Practically this does not require care to grow, if bulbs is available in a pot it’s automatically sprout to form a plant and subsequently bloom on achieving maturity. In case Bulb planted afresh, then its cycle completes in two stages. The plant grows and fully grown leaves dries in winter while the bulb remain dormant with the help of stored food. In the next season surely get the blooms, needs full sun and any type of soil supported with organic manures only. Once you procure the bulb its assure flowering during every summer, as durable display to enhance the garden beauty.
