Splendens 'Salvia'

A wonderful winter flower plant Salvia derived from the Latin word 'Salvere'. The wisdom of this flower is "I think of you" long life and good health, belongs to 'Lamiaceae' family and the garden dwarf variety is known as Salvia Spendens, also called 'Scarlet sage' perennial and native to Brazil, most popular as bedding garden plant. An important variety to include and enhance the garden landscape with vibrant colours like red, white, pink, purple, lavender, blue etc reaches about 2 ft height, blooms grow in spikes, durable and attractive


Grow: It grows as perennials, seedlings is sourced from any nursery stock during pre winter. It’s better to arrange at beds but can also be placed on pots. Now dwarf and hybrid varieties are available. It prefers in full to partial sun, well drained soil, pinching and dead heading for bush formation, apply balanced fertilizer and proper watering. A hardy plant, leaves are heart shaped and the flowers in spikes as appeared in the picture, red Salvia is most common species
