The species binomial name is ‘Lobularia Maritima’ commonly called ‘Sweet Alyssum’ belongs to ‘Brassicaceae’ family and symbolizes meaning ‘worth beyond beauty’. A perennial herbaceous shrub flowing plant (locally known as carpet flower), genus name ‘Lobularia’ came from Greek word means ‘small pod’ even ‘Alyssum’ came from Greek means ‘without madness’ which comprises small flowers arranged in round racemes and dense arrangement with colours like white, violate, pink, purple etc and have sweet aroma alike honey

Grow: Growing Sweet Alyssum begins during winter in this sub-continent, taking seedlings from local nursery and posted either in pot or beds according to plan,the height becomes 2 to 10 inches but the spread is 8 to 12 inches. It requires full to partial sun light, easy growing at prepared soil, proper drainage and measured fertiliser. The leaves are oval and at branches of steams comes out cluster of tiny blooms covering the ground exposure. The flowers have four petals and six stamens with yellow anthers.
