Binomial name is Coreopsis calliopsidea, commonly known as ‘Çoreopsis’ and ‘Tickseed’ belongs to flowering perennial species of ‘Asterales’ family. The name Coreopsis came from Greek words ‘koris’ & ‘opsis’ means ‘bedbug view’, general height is 2 ft to 4 ft. The flower heads are showy with bracts in two series, colour yellow having toothed tip; bi-colour is also available. The species are distinguished in different categories like Coreopsis Grandiflora, Coreopsis Calliopside & Inflorescence etc.
Grow: Like any other winter variety seedlings obtained from reliable source and being planted on prepared bed or pots filled with soil having proper drainage, protection of young plant is necessary by application of suitable fungicides and insecticides, along with organic fertilization to moderate growth of the plant. The outcome is attractive flower heads as above, enrich the garden environment.
