This is a low height succulent summer season flowering plant name Portulaca Grandiflora from ‘Portulacaceae’ family also known as moss rose, sun rose, and ten o’clock. A fast growing species, leaves are fleshy and arranged alternately or in clusters. The blooms have five petals having a wide range of colors include read, orange, pink, white, yellow, bi-color etc. The height is limited to 1 ft and flowers can be up to 3 cm diameter.

Grow: My favorite choice when beds and small pots replacement of plant becomes essential at the end of winter season. Here by March/April young ‘Portulaca’ seedlings being procured from nursery’s germination hub, a low cost variety. It does not require much care and quickly grows at left over soil mixtures when regular fertilizers applied. This attractive and colorful flower brings charm and let express satisfaction.

Scientific Classification: Kingdom - Plantae; Clade – Angiosperms, Eudicots; Order – Caryophyllales; Family - Portulacaceae; Genus – Portulaca (Source – Wikipedia)
